Aberdyfi harbour

Aberdyfi harbour, oil on canvas, 2004, 41 × 30  cm (1′ 4″ × 1′)

This is an unusual and melancholy portrayal of a Welsh holiday resort which captures it at its most bleak. The churning sea and the impersonal aura of the pseudo-monochrome sodium lighting suggest the mood of isolation and turmoil experienced by the hunched solitary figure.
